glad to see the pictures of the bus rollover and even more glad to see the jig worked alright it looks cool laid over knowing how easy it will be to work on glad to see everyone showed up now after ron gets done we'll all have to show up to turn it back over maybe we can get together and cruize or have lunch around the holidays keep in mind devin and his crew will be leaving soon hope we get to see them before they go off to the snow herbie

well just got time to slow down in case you have't heard herbie got to be the first vw to be invited to the concuors de elegance in hilton head he also got invited to go on the driving tour in savannah this was the first time they done this in 100 hundred years my oldest son and my grandson joey came down from maryland to go with me. I even got to drive on the race track at hutchenson island, and I out ran a porsche. We had a ball. Our bark in the park was a hugh success thanks partly to the DKK members that showed up, we thank you. Last Saturday we went in the parade in Pembroke with herbie and his trike bike entered the trike bike in the bike show and won top trike. In the bark in the park we addopted 16 dog for animal control and 2 puppies that someone brought. Last friday I got an old english bulldog and 5 puppies that I am fostering along with my own 7 dogs, so the house is pretty busy now.

Hate to let you down, but I better stick to the stickers. I cant get any large amounts of metal right now.
things are happening with my 2 toys - Jakes building the bus a RAT 091 tranny and the Thing is almost in the paint shop- with a few surprises waiting when it emerges. Mark I read your post about Jake- I know you have dealt with him longer than I have but I have always had great response from him directly WHEN i start the conversation on the forums, for a 2 dollar part or a 1000 dallar part or even just advice. I think he is extremely busy multitasking and email and forums allow for that as well as keeping fluff to a minimum. Just my opinion, I have been very happy with the forums and his service...........now if I can just get my exhaust! ( that was phil a month ago heh)

Hey everyone....next time you call Jeff ask him what he likes on his Hot Dogs....he might not get it right away....but eventually if everyone keeps asking him.

Phil - thanks for the invite on halloween but the kids were having too much fun in the nieghborhood...lots of haunted houses.....to drive anywhere.

We are probably out of any upcoming events for a while as I am really trying to make things happen with our VWS, but itll be worth it

I heard you told Jeff that a type IV won't fit in a bug? I think I remember reading in the DKK bylaws that "THOU SHALT NOT DIS THE VW WHISPERER"!!!

In fact there is a prophecy in every VW manual...

And, it shall come to pass that on the twenty first day of the tenth month in the second thousand and eighth year of our Lord, there shall appear a great man bearing a golden wrench endowed with the sign of a V and a W. And, he shall lay his hand upon this lost oval and declare all is not lost. He shall see that the sign of IV is good and righteous! He shall bring the sign of IV upon this lost oval. And, all that shall witness this will agree that it is good! He shall henceforth be known as the VW whisperer. And, all will say it shall be so.

Hope that made you laugh. Lord knows, after all the frustration you've endured, you deserve a good chuckle. Your oval is one of the nicest looking show cars on the road. I know when you get the bugs ( no pun intended) worked out, it's going to be just awesome!

Hey Mark how about this? maybe Ill work on the eyes a bit, I would suggest paint if your committed so we would have more of a color selection, as I dont have a green vinyl.

Hey Devin....I have a request. Do you remember the blue vw cat that was originally on my bus before I changed the rear to a safari? I have looked all over the net for that thing and can't find it anywhere. If you could reproduce it, that would be great.

By the way, thanks to all the offers for help/chainsaws. I was able to make pretty quick work of the tree with my electric. It is pretty new and the blade was still good and sharp, so not too difficult.

wow Phil! that is a nice welcome home present. Im here busy as ever, I too have a chainsaw that you can use, however Im unavailable to help until maybe the weekend. Ill leave that hard work to you old men. Give me a call if you want to come pick it up.

Mark, I can't wait to see that RAT motor pushing the GOBLIN. That will be exciting and reliable to boot.

Also I just came into a large amount of Aircraft "DYNOMAT" sound deading insulation so once I figure out how much i need I will be ready to dole it out to anyone who wants to quiet/ and insulate their vws down. It is only about 1/16" thick and alum backed. i also have some that is not backed for doubleing up on areas.

I am anxiously awaiting the long sought after Raby/Tangerine header and muffler combo for my engine. I got in by the skin of my teeth. only 10 made for now and i got sn 10. It should be here in a few weeks.

Ellodee and I would like to try Vinnie Van GoGo's. Every time we've been down there, it's been too crowded to get in. So, count us in if our schedule will allow.

By the way.....It's not that I can't cruise river street.....I choose not to. You know when they see shittybus rollin down river street, it's just gonna cause too much havoc. I refrain for public safety....don't want anyone to get trampled ner nuthin.

We Propose........

A Vinnie Van GoGo's cruise and pizza stop downtown sometime soon. There are three spots that I think we could bogart with a big vehicle say... my bus and another big H2o car and I talked to a couple cops down there and they said that we could probable "park" in front of the bike racks ther until we got spots. I did talk to Paul the owner but he cant do anything, however thought it would be cool.

On another note.. I met a nieghbor of mine that has a 68 bug with air bags- very cool....hint hint for you lowered guys that cant drive anywhere.....haha

I am going to do the minimum to this car. I am going to clean it up, put the new top on, and drive it like crazy. One of the main reasons we got it was to have another car while the Van gets paint and interior. I need to keep the money chaneled in the van not the thing.
We cant wait to drive it with you guys!

just kidding. we have been having fun with the Thing. I've only had the windshield up twice.....when it was raining. hope fully it will be a daily driver shortly and it can join in on the fun. my only problem now is choosing which one to drive....but the weather usually dictates that.

Sorry for the late notice.

Several DKK members are meeting THIS Saturday morning to attend the NOPI Car show on Eisenhower Dr. You are invited to join us. Meet at the (SEARS) near Golden Coral Parking lot @ Ogelthorpe Mall-8 a.m. We plan to caravan together around 8:30 a.m. We would love to have a long line of air-cooled VWs arrive at the same time for maximum effect!!!

If you plan to join us, please return an email and let us know. Weather promises to be very nice. Wear sunscreen. Clean up your ride and Bring a chair. One of our DKK members may bring our club tent in his SUV for shade. We plan to buzz the VW dealership after the show.

I placed an order with A-1 two weeks ago. When I talked to them today, they had not even shipped my item which was in stock when I ordered. Why is everything I order from VW vendors just like this??? What do you have to do to get decent customer service????

Hi all. We pulled an all nighter to get ready for business today and, of course, Murphy was in full force. When I hooked the equipment back up, I had 2 gas leaks and the fryer would not light. All of this happened about 11 pm.

So... after cleaning and setting everything back up, we were able to leave about 3am to go home and shower/nap and get back to the store at 6am to take the equipment to the repair shop for service. Right now, we're running on about 3 hours of sleep since wed at 5:30am.

At any rate, sorry I haven't had time to post. I've tried to change the layout on this site to show the "Comment" to a post larger. I have replied to a couple of posts, but you have to be watching for them to see that there is a reply. If you look back you will see the number of comments, but the text is tiny. I guess the best option is to start a new post each time.

As for the J'ville run, we are hoping to go. Ellodee's bug still has the old tranny and turns up stupid rpm's on the hwy. I hate to be the slowest car , but if possible, we'll give it a try. The new trans is on the to do list.

As for the Dixieland show, Moe's is sponsoring a trophy and give-away goodies, so we will definitely need to be there. I'm replacing the drivers window in my 32 and we will try to have both cars at there.
